It is that time of year again. E3 2012 is almost here. Next week the LA Convention Center will be buzzing with the gaming industry’s best. People all over the world will be glued to their TV or computer waiting to catch a glimpse of new games coming down the pipeline. Every year E3 promises to deliver the best of the best, however it doesn’t always fulfill.

I have to say, I was quite looking forward to the Microsoft Press Conference today, as I was hoping to get a sneak peek at some awesome new innovations for the XBox, or perhaps even a glimpse of an upcoming console, despite Microsoft assuring us that this would not take place. Most of the games that were shown had been seen before, or at least anticipated, but only a select handful got the massive kind of attention that has been known to make or break a game in the past. Perhaps this was the result of the game's creators trying to ensure it's success, or perhaps it was the media recognizing a potential blockbuster when they saw one, but either way, there were some titles at E3 that simply stood out, while the others faded into the background.
